It needs to be placed vertically, not horizontally, as I was previously used to with mercury thermometers.

The thermometer is very light, made of plastic, it will definitely not break. But I think you can break it, because anything can happen. Convenient digital display and one button for reset, on and off. Battery operated.

The temperature can be measured when this icon appears. If you believe the instructions, then after the beep sounded, you can already watch the data. There is also a postscript that for a more accurate measurement, after the beep, hold the thermometer for another minute. Naturally, after the purchase, we decided to test it, we did not get sick, the temperature should be normal. I always have a low body temperature, my husband has a standard 36.6. But the results of all were strange, the thermometer showed either 35 or 36. And with an interval of several minutes. Somehow we did not attach much importance to this then, as a rule, any thermometer will have an error.

Measurement methods
In the anus (rectally)
From a medical point of view, this is the most accurate method of measurement, since its result is closest to the core body temperature. In this case, the tip of the thermometer is carefully inserted into the anus for a maximum of 2 cm. The measurement time is usually about 40-60 seconds.

Armpit (axillary)
In the armpit, the surface temperature of the body is determined, which in adults can differ by about 0.5–1.5 ° C from that measured rectally.
The usual measurement time in this way is approx. 90 seconds. However, it should be borne in mind that an accurate measurement result cannot be obtained if, for example, the armpit has been cooled. In order to obtain the most accurate measurement result, as close as possible to the core body temperature, we recommend extending the measurement time by 5 minutes.

Oral (oral)
There are various thermal zones in the oral cavity. As a rule, the oral temperature is lower than the temperature measured rectally by 0.3 - 0.8 ° C. For the most accurate measurement, place the tip of the thermometer to the left or right of the root of the tongue.
The measuring tip must be in constant contact with the tissues during the measurement and located behind the tongue in one of the two thermal pockets. During the measurement, keep your mouth closed and breathe evenly through your nose.
Do not eat or drink immediately before the measurement. The measurement time is usually approx. 60 seconds.
